Workplace Learning: Still a Mess

Ein wunder Punkt und ein lesenswerter Artikel. Michael Feldstein schildert zuerst, warum er vor einigen Jahren reichlich desillusioniert Corporate Learning den Rücken gekehrt hat. Dann wirft er einen Blick auf den aktuellen Hype um „Workplace Learning“ – und stellt fest, dass die alten Fragen immer noch aktuell sind. Zwar gibt es inzwischen große Kursbibliotheken, es gibt EdTech, es gibt smarte Algorithmen, die personalisierte Angebote versprechen, doch nach wie vor fehlen aus seiner Sicht „Kontext“ und die kritische Frage, ob ein Problem überhaupt durch Lernen und Lernangebote gelöst werden kann.

„If you want to develop lasting product/market fit with a learning product, regardless of the sector that it’s in, you’ll need to look deeper than the buying patterns of the moment. This is a complex space whose ongoing success cannot be predicted by purchases, initial usage, or even the first couple of years of repeat purchases. It takes a while to figure out if learning interventions are working, especially if you’re not studying their impact (which most organizations are not).“
