Donald Clark schreibt: „Critical thinking was a famous 21st century skill, that everyone thought AI could never solve. It just has.“ Dann setzt er an, die jüngsten Erfolge und Möglichkeiten der KI zu feiern. Seine Beispiele – das Lösen komplexer Probleme, „multi-stage tasks“, Planungen, Assessments, typische Projektmanagement-Aufgaben usw. – bleiben etwas allgemein.

Bei den Möglichkeiten, die Donald Clark sieht, möchte ich nicht widersprechen. Auch nicht, was das Tempo der KI-Entwicklung betrifft (er ist der KI-Experte!). Die Frage ist, wie die KI-Systeme zukünftig eingesetzt werden: Werden sie integrierte Bausteine unternehmensweiter Plattformen sein? Oder sind es persönliche Assistenten, die mir helfen, die mir aber nicht die Verantwortung für bestimmte Aufgaben und Ergebnisse abnehmen? Im zweiten Fall muss ich das „kritische Denken“ der KI mitgehen können.

„Reason is not everything and it almost always has a context and involves domain knowledge in the real world. That’s why the coworker approach is likely for the foreseeable future. There may also be limits to the Chain of Thought approach. We do not yet know much about costs, context window, limits on the ‚thinking‘ process. What we do know is that this is a breakthrough. There will be others.“
